As a PhD student or researcher, you can either pursue a career inside or outside the university. Perhaps, you have a great research idea which can lead the way to building your own company and, thus, a new career path.

At this introductory webinar, you will be introduced to various important areas such as business development, funding opportunities, IPR and commercialization. The different disciplines can help you achieve insight in how to go from research to business and a career outside academia as an alternative to a career at the university.

This introductory course will apply a special focus on The Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University.

• 10:20-10:30: BREAK with coffee and cake
• 10:30-10:45: Case presentation by Associate Professor Peter Gjøl Jensen, Department of Computer Science
• 10:45-11:30: IPR and Commercial Funding by Jens Frede Rasmussen, AAU Technology Transfer Office

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The course will be held physically at AAU INNOVATE - Science and Innovation Hub, Thomas Manns Vej 25, 9220 Aalborg Øst in our Pitch Area (meeting room C.009, ground floor next to the Foodhub).

It will also be possible to attend the course online. You will receive a link for Microsoft Teams upon registration.
